Want to get out there and explore Scotland and its stories for yourself? Well I’m here to help with a Scotland’s Stories private guided tour! Sit back in comfort and let me do all the hard work, regaling you with myths, legends and history as we go.

Every guided tour is bespoke, based around your interests and how long you have to spend. In love with ancient standing stones? Fan of folklore? Healthy obsession for history hunting? Whether you’re looking for chapels or castles, islands or mountains, history or whisky, I can help you find it!

Lots of tour companies will tell you that they know all the “off the beaten track” locations or hidden gems, but if you’ve been following me on social media then you already know I back that up! Exploring Scotland is what I love doing and sharing it in person with somebody like you makes it even better.

On a Scotland’s Stories Guided Tour, I can’t guarantee good weather, but I can guarantee a trip full of laughter, wonder and memories that will last forever. And probably a lot of bad jokes, although that hasn’t stopped me being awarded the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a tour cost?

Every tour is bespoke and therefore so is the cost. Get in touch with as many details as possible and I will prepare a quote!

What’s included in the price?

A bespoke itinerary, all fuel costs and even a few snacks although you will need to purchase or bring your own lunch. Due to regulations, accommodation cannot be included but I can offer advice.

How many can join a tour?

Up to four people can join a tour, adults or children.

How long does a tour last?

Since each tour is bespoke, that’s up to you! If you want to leave at dawn and return in darkness then we’ll make that happen. If you want a long lie and to be home by 5pm, then that’s no problem.

Where does the tour start?

Anywhere you want! I live in Edinburgh, but if you want picked up from Glasgow then dropped off in Pitlochry at the end of the day, I can include that in your price.

Where will we go on the tour?

The tour will be planned around your interests, so almost anywhere! I’ll discuss what’s feasible to achieve in the time you have, bearing in mind that a daytrip from Edinburgh will have its limitations.

Will Molly the dog be joining us?

Depending on our itinerary, Molly might be able to join us! If dogs aren’t your thing then don’t worry, she’s equally happy staying at home!

   Please book with Graeme you will not regret it! - Graeme set up our tour of Skye for my wife and I.
 For 4 days he took us to the popular and even the small off the beaten path places.... read more With stories and history there was never a boring moment with him. He even went so far as to plan a picnic on a hill top which was fantastic. And at the end of our trip he took me to Highland Titles Sanctuary were we walked around to find my small plot of land. I will never forget the time we spent with this wonderful gentleman and plan on booking with him again.

   30th Birthday Girls’ Trip!! - Graeme Johncock
 A 30th birthday trip to remember! Graeme was wonderful and helped two friends and I celebrate our birthdays in the perfect way in June of 2022. Our trip... read more was the perfect combination of Scottish history, castles, highland countryside, whisky drams, and ceilidh dancing! 
 
 We spent three days with Graeme and traveled all over the western highlands. I had reached out to him a few months before our trip and had done a good amount of research on activities and sites to see and sent him my thoughts. He was tremendously helpful in making additional suggestions and mapping out the entire trip for us! I gave him a rough idea of what we’d like to do and see, and he couldn’t have planned a better three days for us! He communicated all the details with me so well and was very engaged in helping to customize the exact experience we wanted. His attention to detail was fabulous and he made sure that each day had a well-balanced schedule. 
 
 Graeme’s knowledge and excitement for Scottish history and folklore was contagious! The enthusiasm he brought to each story, site, and activity made the entire experience so special and memorable for my friends and I. He even surprised us for our ceilidh dancing class by showing up in his kilt! 
 
 Three days absolutely flew by and I can’t wait to travel back to Scotland for another trip with Graeme as our guide. We would all highly recommend Graeme to anyone looking for a special trip to Scotland. It was one we will never forget! I have already given his contact to family and friends for future trips because I can’t imagine a better way of seeing Scotland!
