Lots of tour companies will tell you that they know all the “off the beaten track” locations or hidden gems, but if you’ve been following me on social media then you already know I back that up! Exploring Scotland is what I love doing and sharing it in person with somebody like you makes it even better.
On a Scotland’s Stories Guided Tour, I can’t guarantee good weather, but I can guarantee a trip full of laughter, wonder and memories that will last forever. And probably a lot of bad jokes, although that hasn’t stopped me being awarded the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award!

Don’t just take my word for it though, here are some comments from previous guests on Scotland’s Stories Tours:
Just Book It! - Can’t recommend Graeme as a tour guide highly enough! My best friend and I spent 2 days of our 2 week trip with him and many of the things we... read more saw and did were the highlights of our whole trip. Graeme took time before our trip to video call and learn about the two of us, our interest, and why we were traveling to Scotland. He used that information to put together an incredible itinerary that felt personal and purposeful! He even went above and beyond and provided suggestions on places to visit when we weren’t with him. Besides taking over the logistics of planning the timing, route, and tickets, Grame is a great storyteller, historian, and welcoming individual. We had as much fun in the car as we did at the various locations! Plus, Molly is the goodest of all good dogs!

Not just a vacation, but a happening that will last a lifetime. - When this authentic Scottish dude picks you up and very carefully loads you onto his well-equipped Scottish steed, you realize you’ve wandered into your very own Scottish Story.

You can’t believe that you’re touring Scotland with Rob Roy or Robert the Bruce, all the while visiting fascinating place after fascinating place while his deep storytelling voice conjures up every little historical detail, and then he digs into his vast depth of Scottish lore to tell you a story or two to bring the place to life.
After you get used to traveling with a giant Scottish dude who everyone stares at, you realize that the real genius of the man is his depth of knowledge combined with stories that burst out of him when you least expect it. He takes you to your favorite places and then throws in a few surprises along the way.
He loves so many things: Molly, Scotland, storytelling, history, tradition, good food, great whisky, adventure, his precious Scottish people, and you, the lucky traveler who may just get to spend a few days crafting your own Scottish story with this extraordinary Scottish man.
It’s not just a vacation, it’s a happening. Book him while you can. He’s going to be booked for a long, long while.

Sterling and Brilliant - We seized the opportunity for a private tour with bespoke tour guide Graeme Johncock with “Scotlands-stories”. Graeme communicated well over email and over Zoom. He listened to our vocations... read more and avocations and customized one day to the Scottish Highlands and a second day to the Scottish Lowlands. He blended our interests in engineering, history, arts, people and even agriculture.Throughout both days,
Graeme had unbounded energy and piqued our interests with vibrant and well-timed Scotland’s Stories. Moreover, he was a safe, smooth and courteous driver.
He maximized one day with the Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies tour, Stirling Castle, Highland Hairy Cows, a toast to Rob Roy, Glencoe and James Bond photo shoot, Fort William and Neptune’s Staircase, and even searched for Nessie! On our second day after Rosslyn Chapel, he surprised us with the Templar Cemetery. As we returned to the car, I spotted an important glass sculptor and modern glass engraver studio with the artist outside. She invited us in for a lovely and warm-hearted tour. Graeme sensed our level of interest and responded well with our diversion from our planned second day.
We give Graeme top marks and highly recommend his grand tour guiding and his extensive story telling services.

Best Tour in Scotland - In short, the time we booked with Graeme was fantastic! Would we recommend booking time with him? Yes! Would we book time with him again? Absolutely! He took the... read more time to talk with us over Zoom before our visit to get to know us and understand our interests. Throughout our time, we felt like our tour was built just for us. He told us countless stories and taught us so much about Scottish culture. We certainly got to see little gems across Scotland that we wouldn’t have seen without his expertise. Even on the days we ventured out on our own he gave us recommendations as to what we should do and he was able to tell us more about what we had seen. Definitely a highlight of our Scottish adventure.

Efficiency and confidence - After a very thorough phone consult, Graeme was a tremendous help in putting together a well-focused itinerary based on our specific interests. Master Storyteller & Guide!!! - We (a newly married couple on their honeymoon!) had the great fortune of Graeme’s expertise and fantastic company for a total of four days, and it made our experience all... read more the more enriching and magical! The amount of historical knowledge, and number of tales he’s committed to memory, absolutely boggles the mind and places him square in the ancient oral tradition of brilliant Scottish storytellers! Fortunately, he’s also deft with a pen and has a highly-anticipated book in the works!!! If all this weren’t enough, he packed snacks for our excursions and surprised us with a gorgeous quaich and hand-fasting ceremony (as if he’d read our minds, as we were hoping to do one on that very day!!!) You will not do better than this master storyteller and wealth of information (who also—steel yourself ladies—rocks a kilt with the very best of them!!) We’re gonna miss his company and insight on our remaining days in this gorgeous country. Thank you so much, Graeme!!!
